Newport Road Murder - 45-year-old Derrick Edgerson Kills
On Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 9:07 AM, deputies from the Hemet Station responded to a residence in the 40500 block of Newport Road for a report of a shooting on a large property. Deputies arrived and located a deceased adult male. The decedent’s identity is currently being withheld pending notification to the family._x000D_ _x000D_ During the investigation, the suspect was identified as 45-year-old Derrick Edgerson. The suspect was arrested and booked into custody for homicide. _x000D_ Witness stated that when police arrived the killer sat and waited for police to arrive and he told them he is the one who killed the victim. Edgerson was quickly arrested and taken into custody._x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_
