The ASI rediscovered it during excavation in 2010-2011 and declared it a protected monument. Dwarka baoli is constructed in a rectangular layout as you can see the stepwell features arched niches on two levels which reflects the architectural style of the period.

One of the story says that it has been part of the ancient Loharehri village and been used as water source for the local community . Today as we can see despite urban development around it, Baoli has become a point of attraction for visitors and history enthusiasits.
